House Blessing Etiquette
Today we start the House Blessings! I’m so excited to get this new project underway, and to see all of you.
If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so:
Try and give me as many options as possible, so that I can get to you while I am already in your neighborhood.
Here’s how it goes:
The whole blessing will take less than 5 minutes—and it’s designed to be done at your front door. But, if that doesn’t work for whatever reason, we can do it anyplace you’d like to do it. Think of where the “heart of the home” is.
Part of the liturgy is the Blessing of Chalk—which is then used to mark “20 + C + M + B + 19” somewhere near your doorway. I can explain the inscription when I get there, but if you could think of a good place that we could inscribe it, that would be helpful.
Because it’s designed to be at your front door... no, you don’t have to make your bed. No, you don’t have to have all your laundry put away. No, you don’t even have to have done the dishes. This isn’t an inspection. (I’ll do those later in the year...)
See you soon!
