Please visit out
needs list if you are able to help with the meal we provide for the clients of St Mark's Center for Community Renewal. We have been helping to serve meals there since just after Sandy, 6 years ago this week, and have served almost 15,000 meals.
Operation Christmas Child
It’s that time again! This year we are collecting goods and donations to send 100 boxes to needy children with Operation Christmas Child. Each box has a label for boys and girls and age ranges for items. We are looking for cash donations to purchase items and defray the $9 per box shipping charge, as well as items for the Sunday School kids to pack in the boxes.
Acceptable items include small toys, personal care items: combs, hairbrush, blankets, toothbrush, etc., supplies: pencils, erasers, markers, notebooks, glue sticks, etc., hair bows, sunglasses, small bags, etc.
Please do not include: food, toothpaste, gym, war-related toys, liquids or lotions, medications or vitamins, breakable items or aerosol cans. You are welcome to pack your own box, there are some in the Link.
We will be collecting items through November 10th to pack the boxes on the 11th. You can contact Samantha Glass:
sammiegg96@gmail.com with questions.
Hope for Homeless Veterans
Veterans Day is coming quickly, which means it's time for me to once again ask for your generous donations in support of the terrific folks at Community Hope at the VA, who help homeless veterans restart their lives and regain their independence.
What's needed most this time?- Regular (not travel or jumbo) sizes of toiletries -- toothbrushes and toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorants, body wash or soap, lotions, wipes, shampoos and conditioners, shaving items and socks, for both women and men
- Nonperishables -- canned goods, cereal, oatmeal, tuna fish, pasta, and snack items
I will continue collecting through Sunday, November 18, which will give me time to drop our donations off for our veterans by Thanksgiving, a wonderful way to say “thanks” for all they have done for us!
Please look for the bright BLUE bin with the flags attached in the Link! I will be happy to shop for items, so we have a basket in the Narthex for donations, if that's easier for you than shopping. You may also wish to drop a monetary donation in the collection plate or at the office, marked "Community Hope."
Thank you! Emie WilliamsPlease donate your leftover Halloween candy, as well - the vets will love it!
